Synopsis
An American Family Holiday: The Finale featuring Norm Lewis
At the Temple Theatre – Monday & Tuesday, December 22 & 23 at 7:00 PM
Celebrate the season with the Windham Chamber Singers in their farewell performance of An American Family Holiday: The Finale — a heartwarming, star-studded concert led by Richard “Rick” Nickerson, a 1981 graduate of Houlton High School. After an extraordinary career of more than three decades inspiring young musicians, this marks Nickerson’s final year of teaching and conducting the renowned Windham Chamber Singers — making this performance especially meaningful for local audiences.
Recorded live at the Windham Performing Arts Center, this spectacular concert features Broadway star Norm Lewis as the headliner. Lewis, known for his rich baritone voice and commanding stage presence, has appeared in numerous acclaimed productions including The Phantom of the Opera (as Broadway’s first Black Phantom), Les Misérables, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, Sweeney Todd, and Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid. He’s also been featured on television in Scandal, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Pose.
Joining Lewis and the Windham Chamber Singers are special guests Daniel Strange, Ashley Liberty, Harrison & Summer, The AmFam Band, and host Kim Block. Together, they bring a joyful mix of classic carols, powerful harmonies, and holiday cheer — a performance that has become one of Maine’s most beloved seasonal traditions.
Join us at the Temple Theatre to experience this beautiful send-off concert on the big screen and celebrate the lasting legacy of Rick Nickerson and the incredible young voices he has inspired.
